Infinite Undiscovery Demo Video Part 1 and 2

A new Infinite Undiscovery video has been uploaded to the Japanese Inside Xbox service. The video shows off the first high quality gameplay footage taken from the game's official demo. This is only part 1, and part 2 is supposed to be released tomorrow.

FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus International announced

Square Enix plans to release an international version of Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus on September 4, 2008 in Japan. The version is supposed to contain improvements over the regular version that's already released in Japan, but those improvements are probably the ones already applied to the North American version of the game.

Confirmed: Chrono Trigger coming to the DS

It began as a rumor and was confirmed along the way: The dream of many Square Enix fans has finally come true. The company has just announced that a Chrono Trigger remake will be coming to the Nintendo DS.

The remake is to be released sometime during Winter, 2008.

Update: The game seems to be coming to North America as well, as Tenbatsu from NeoGAF found the official North American website.

Update #2: The game seems to be an "enhanced port" and not a remake. We'll wait for more official details concerning the release in order to know what is going to change.

Update #3: Square Enix has officially announced Chrono Trigger will be released in North America this holiday season. According to the press release, a brand new dungeon and a Wireless Play mode will be added.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy Trailer Translation

Nomura has recently stated that Dissidia: Final Fantasy is no ordinary action game, and in order to find out the story of this unique title we decided to translate the trailer Square Enix has just recently released. Do note the random snippets make it tough to be 100% accurate in translation, but we tried our best.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy was announced in order to celebrate the Final Fantasy franchise 20th anniversary, and it is no surprise the story of the game will revolve around crystals, yet again. It seems as if the heroes that were chosen from each game (Squall, Zidane, etc.) are seeking out the crystals in order to learn the truth about the eternal battle between Chaos and Cosmos.

Rumor: Kingdom Hearts 3 to be revealed next month

This month's Nintendo Power issue features an advertise for the next issue, which is supposed to reveal a new game. Now, notice NP's description:

"We'll kick off the next 20 years of Nintendo Power with more big reveals, including a top-secret cover story fit for a king. It's got a lot of heart. Just kidding. It's Mother 3. Just kidding. Please look forward to it."

Chocobo's Dungeon announced for Europe

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon, featuring a loveable cast of Chocobo and his friends, will be available exclusively on the Wii across Europe and other PAL territories in Autumn 2008, while the North American version will be released very soon on July 8. John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Ltd. comments:

"Chocobo has been a firm favourite with FINAL FANTASY fans for years, and players will be able to see him take centre stage and come to life in his very own adventure.

FINAL FANTASY FABLES: Chocobo's Dungeon will appeal to fans of the FINAL FANTASY series along with younger Nintendo Wii owners looking for an engrossing adventure."

Final Fantasy XIII Doodling Competition

We are pleased to announce our very first competition, called the Final Fantasy XIII Doodling Competition. I personally wanted to fire it up on our new layout, but here's to hoping our next one really will!

Our very first competition is a collaboration between us and our friends over at Final Fantasy XIII.Net and FF-illumina.Net. Together we've come up with what we feel are worthy prizes for the winners:

GRAND PRIZE: $60.00 Amazon Gift Certificate

1ST RUNNER UP: $30.00 Amazon Gift Certificate
2ND RUNNER UP: $10.00 Amazon Gift Certificate

Now, lets go on to what you actually do to win the competition. If you recall, young people used to read the newspaper, and with it, they would draw and doodle all over them. Eye patches, mustaches, cigars, all sorts of things they would draw on the pictures in newspapers. What you have to do, is doodle on a Final Fantasy XIII magazine scan just like that. The 3 top competitors with the funniest/most entertaining doodled scans will be selected as the winners!

To enter the competition simply select one magazine scan from our Final Fantasy XIII or Final Fantasy Versus XIII galleries, and Doodle all over it using any computer program such as Photoshop, Painter, MS Paint, etc.

Once you are done, send your entry to submit@finalfantasyxiii.net, and include your first and last name.

RULES:

· Only one (1) entry is allowed per person. Updating your entry is allowed.
· Using typed text is NOT ALLOWED. Words are allowed, but must be written by hand.
· Importing or adding images to the original scan is NOT ALLOWED.
· All entries must be appropriate for a PG-13 audience. Any entries displaying expletive or otherwise inappropriate imagery/language will be disqualified.
· All entries must be in JPG (.jpg or .jpeg) or PNG (.png) format.

All entries will be judged by the combined staff of FFi, Final Fantasy XIII.Net and us. A winner will be announced on Sunday, July 13th.
